Edward Kirk Herrmann was born on July 21, 1943 and died on December 31, 2014.hewas an American on-screen character, executive, essayist, and comic, best known for his Emmy-selected depictions of Franklin D. Roosevelt on TV, Richard Gilmore in Gilmore Girls, an universal storyteller for recorded projects on The History Channel and in such PBS preparations as Nova, and as a representative for Dodge autos in the 1990s.\

Herrmann was an extraordinary car aficionado and restored exemplary autos. Herrmann was a standard speaker for the yearly Pebble Beach Concours d’elegance and facilitated the TV program Automobiles on The History Channel.
He claimed and restored a few classics he could call his own, including a 1929 Auburn 8-90 Boattail Speedster and a 1934 Alvis Speed 20. Herrmann kicked the bucket on December 31, 2014 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Hospital of cerebrum malignancy, at 71 years old.
